Grants for Local History - Support the Ohio History Fund!
The History Fund is Ohio History Connection's grant program for local history and historic preservation projects. Funding for History Fund grants comes from three sources: donations of Ohio income tax refunds (the "tax check-off"), sales of Ohio History Mastadon license plates and individual contributions.
In the first four years of the Ohio History Fund, it has given almost $448,000 in grants to 47 local history projects across Ohio. At the same time, the History Fund received more than 225 grant applications, totaling $2.7 million in grant requests!
The History Fund's capability to make grants is limited only by the amount donated annually to the program. The more you give, the more we can grant to local history.
Your tax-deductible contribution, tax check-off donations (also tax deductible) and Ohio History license plate purchase enable the History Fund to support projects such as the care of a local history museum's one-of-a-kind artifact collections that help to tell a community's story, digitization initiatives that make important local historical resources available on the Internet and preservation projects that ensure the survival and enjoyment of historical sites that make local communities unique. We need your help to make grants for local history projects that will enable you to share the legacy of our state and communities with our children and their children, and their children. Stand for local history and support the History Fund today.
